about new geneva
Education is an epistemological exercise. This means that everything that happens in education is the enactment of beliefs and assumptions about what it means to know and how a person comes to know. Every school is an apologetic for the epistemology it represents. Classical Christian epistemology is rational, moral, and personal (i.e., it is not the mind only, but the whole person who knows; and knowledge is gained personally). It recognizes that students come to know ideas by seeing them embodied in particular instances. — Circe Institute

Mission Statement of the New Geneva School
|
New Geneva offers a classical approach to education that is engaged in a community working together in the bonds of mutual affection towards revealed truth and virtue. Its methods and texts are often ancient but are informed by modern knowledge, experience, and circumstances. Its intent is to form graduates befitting of their charge, who regardless of their future professions or aspirations seek to perpetuate intellectual, moral, and civic virtue in themselves and future generations. It is an education appropriate to our humanity, our divine purpose in life and essential for good government and the happiness of mankind.
